Researchers at universities are encouraged to develop profiles on multiple databases/services and to maintain good awareness of new opportunities – both within UNSW and beyond. The Grants Management Office and the Research Strategy Office compile an electronic newsletter, Grant News, providing up-to-date advice on research funding opportunities. Grant News is emailed to subscribers fortnightly and is
also available on the GMO webpage. http://research.unsw.edu.au/units/grantsmanagementoffice

SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network) is a computer database with detailed and up-to-date information about thousands of government and private funding opportunities from Australia and overseas. The SPIN database currently contains details for over 19,500 funding opportunities covering a broad range of subject areas and award types. Applicants in Australia are eligible for more than 4,400 of these programs, nearly 1,000 of which are offered by Australian organisations. http://australia.infoed.org/spin/spinmain.asp

The New Staff Induction website provides a comprehensive listing that will provide you with additional information on the support services available to researchers. http://www.hr.unsw.edu.au/employee/orientation/orientation_home.html
