At the University of New South Wales

At UNSW, mentorship of researchers and early career academics has been identified as a major priority. Researcher Development facilitates various programs which encourages researchers to choose an appropriate mentor for their research career development. The Early Career Research@UNSW program is a research-training program offering structured support and training for 1 year for anyone new to research. Participants are assigned a mentor and attend monthly seminars with peers from across the university. Topics include grant writing, understanding the UNSW research infrastructure, getting published, applying for promotion, research ethics, and research networking. Some faculties or schools will offer an internal mentoring program. Faculty Associate Deans can be contacted to ascertain whether mentoring programs are available in your faculty.
