There are many resources at the University of Sydney that can assist you with the intricacies of recruitment and employment of staff. Your primary support in recruiting new staff will be SydneyRecruitment

Your SydneyRecruitment consultant will provide you with advice and support throughout the recruitment process, including:

  • Advising where to seek assistance in regards to writing a duty statement or position accountability statement (PAS)
  • Meeting with you to understand the position and its requirements
  • Writing an advertisement
  • Creating selection criteria for potential candidates to respond to
  • Suggesting advertising options and costs
  • Suggesting passive sourcing strategies (where required)
  • Facilitating the approval process
  • Arranging for the advertisement to be posted
  • Managing candidate enquires (where required)
  • Providing the selection committee with a long list of candidates
  • Assisting in organising candidates for interview
  • Participating on selection committees (where resources allow)
  • Collecting reference reports
  • Assisting the hiring manager negotiate with the preferred candidate and providing feedback to unsuccessful candidates
  • Assisting the hiring manager with the completion of the relevant paperwork.
